Some people call it by other names such as lighter, heartwood and kindling but these are often not true fatwood. Fatwood comes only from pine trees and it is the resin rich portion of the pine tree stump that is true fatwood. Wood from other softwood or hardwood trees is not fatwood. WHAT ARE THE MATERIALS? It is completely natural pine sticks that are extremely rich in resin. It is cut from the old pine stumps that are found in the woods after the trees were tapped for resin and then cut for lumber long ago. The tapping operation resulted in resin rich sections of the stuml that remained when the other portions decomposed. HOW ARE THEY USED?
